Why choose Toray Textile Europe eco fabrics?
In Europe the rate of plastic consumption is growing at around 4% per annum. That might not sound significant, but within 20 years we will have doubled our current use of plastics. By selecting TTEL eco woven fabrics, this directly reduces the amount of plastic bottles which end up in landfill each year.
TTEL eco fabrics are made with recycled yarn certified to come from 100% post consumer waste i.e. Polyester plastic drinks bottles. Offering a practical and cost effective alternative to virgin polyester fabric, without compromising on quality or aesthetics.
We are able to offer the majority of our woven polyester fabric range as a TTEL eco alternative. Covering applications as diverse as furnishings, medical, digital printing, automotive, lamination and apparel.
From Bottle to Fabric
A typical school blazer made from TTEL eco woven fabric would use polyester yarn from 30 recycled plastic bottles. An extra large shirt would use 5 bottles, all of which would normally end up in landfill.
